The map

Find the bright ones.

Every pin is a home whose owners added it themselves.

Four ways to win

The categories.

Readers vote Dec 10 to 15. Winners are featured in the Dec 17 issue.

Best in Show

The house that stops traffic on its own.

Most Over-the-Top

Inflatables, music, a light show synced to it. More is more.

Best Block

Two or more neighbors who went in on it together.

Most Santa Barbara

Surfboard Santas, lit-up succulents, a red-tile roofline done right.

Pin your house

Put your lights on the map.

Two minutes, three steps. We check every entry by hand, and you can take your house off anytime.

  • Free, and only for the people who live there
  • Show your full address or just your block
  • A photo helps it stand out, but it's optional
Where

We'll drop a pin. Drag it if it's not quite on your house.

What should the map show?

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Who can add a house?

Only the people who live there. The form asks you to confirm that, and we check every entry by hand before it goes on the map.

Can I hide my exact address?

Yes. Choose "Show my block only" and the map shows something like "1200 block of Laguna St", with the pin placed nearby instead of on your roof.

How do I take my house off?

Use the removal link you get after you submit. It takes your house off the map and deletes your address, photo and email. You can also email hello@sbsavvy.com.

What do you do with my email?

We use it to reach you if you win or if there's a question about your entry. It's never shown on the map or shared. The newsletter is a separate box you can tick, or not.

How does voting work?

From Dec 10 to 15, anyone can vote once in each category with their email. Your email only counts your votes; the newsletter is a box you can tick, or not. We check the votes before the winners run in the Dec 17 issue.

Does it cost anything?

No. It's free to enter and free to vote, and nobody can pay to win.

Where does the map cover?

The South Coast: Goleta, Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria.

Every Thursday

Never miss the winners.

The map, the vote and the winners all land in SB Savvy first.
