Most of the beer locals recommend is brewed within a few miles of where you drink it, in the Funk Zone, downtown and an industrial stretch of Goleta. A few of the best picks pour other people's beer. Here are fifteen, in order of how often they were recommended, each checked against its own site.

Third Window Brewing
Belgian and farmhouse beers, award-winning.
Brews at The Mill on Haley Street, with a barrel room and a second taproom in Carpinteria. Belle Saison took bronze at the 2026 World Beer Cup; The Dark won gold there in 2024.

TipSanta Barbara stays open until 11 on Friday and Saturday. The patio is shared with Potek Winery.

Each style has a 'Validated' beer, the most-ordered one, and a challenger that can take its place. Its own kitchen, order by QR code at the table.

A Goleta brewery since 2014. Food comes from visiting vendors on its events calendar, not its own kitchen.

The longest bar in the county.
The Goleta brewery says its bar is the longest single-piece bar in Santa Barbara County, with a back-patio stage and food trucks.
